Fenestration Testing Lab Technical Manager                                                            2013-Present

  • Conduct, destructive lab and field testing of fenestration products and construction materials.
  • Manage the erection of large scale building envelope mock ups and their test rigging including coordination of all the trades.
  • Design, develop, and build testing equipment including measurement instrumentation and data acquisition/feedback control systems for controlled experiments.
  • Air/water blower/pump automated systems and associated pluming, hosing, hardware, and valves.
  • Performed controlled simulations to study the effect of hurricane, flood, and impact damage.
  • Prepare documentation including test procedures, performance requirements, lab and field reports, quotes, schematics, diagrams, architectural drawings, and proposals for custom experiments.
  • Design and construct many test application specific pressure vessels including hydro-static, pneumatic, and hydraulic.
  • Maintenance of quality documentation, certifications, accreditation’s, and equipment calibrations.
  • Travel abroad for inspection, in-plant test witnessing, product certification.

Mechanical Design and Prototyping Intern                                         Summer 2008

  • Designed and completed implementation of a prototyping lab used in manufacture of products featured in Popular Science, NBC’s The Office, and Inc 500’s 7 New Technology Marvels.
  • Refurbishing and installing of lathes, CNC mills, laser cutters, and other instruments.
  • Managed the design, fabrication and testing of medical devices.
  • Prototyped line of ergonomic furniture for a client company called steel case. The furniture line won 2 gold awards at the 2009 Neocon.
  • Engineered manufacture of functional and aesthetic lab furniture, including a large array of storage units with custom sliding doors, a large hardware organizer unit, and a very large dry-erase board with moving panels for a conference room.
